The clincher for me is that I'm running the exact same version of Win 7 and Word Perfect on my other computer, (from the same discs), and Corel Word Perfect works as it should so I know it isn't a compatibility issue. I let Word Perfect run for over an hour today and then went back into Task Manager and it still showed as running. It never shows as Not Responding and it never shows Not Responding at the top left of the screen as other programs can do. I do a CTRL/SHIFT/ESC to get into Task Manager and it shows that Word Perfect is running. I can click anywhere in Word Perfect and all it does is ding. If I attempt to make a change or save the file, etc, I hear a ding and then nothing. The problem is that I can open Word Perfect and bring up files. However, this can't be a permanent solution. I have found a work around by using my other computer to bring up the files for Word Perfect and then save them back to this machine. I'm not about to do another reinstall of Windows. I then removed the partition, reformatted (long Format) and reinstalled Win 7. After the reinstall of Win 7, I reinstalled Word Perfect. I used word perfect on this machine with Win 7 prior to the format and it worked perfect. I had to reformat my drive and reinstall Win 7 Ultimate 64. I've never had a problem with it until recently.
I've been running Corel Word Perfect Office 2000 for a few years now.
